Back from the Big Apple

Based on somewhat short notice, I headed off to the Big Apple with an old friend who was moving back home from NYC. She was driving there and back, so I said I would tag along. We had a great time! We got there Thursday night and packed up what was left of her stuff. The movers came Friday morning while I worked in her closet - heehee. And that evening we headed over to two of our other friends place in Brooklyn and hung out there and went out to dinner. Saturday we tooled around in the morning and had to wait for the cable guy all afternoon, then went to dinner with our old band director (my friend is good friends with him now). It was so much fun to see all of these people!! Then Sunday we spent the day checking off all of the to-dos, and places to see off our list - including container store, kate's papery, CB2, etc. Lots of good stuff. And then, it was time to pack things up and say good bye to the big apple yesterday and we drove allllll the way home.

It was really great to get away and hang out with this friend. It was just like old times (although, with a few too many adult problems thrown in there to talk about). It was a nice change of pace and something to help take my mind off of all that is going on. It was great to talk about these life situations, even if neither of us have been through each other's situation. It was just great to get to talk about my babies and have someone ask questions about them and think about them. It made this girls heart very happy!! (Even if there were tears involved from time to time.)

And it was so nice to pull into the driveway and have my two favorite furry things (the hubs and the pup) running towards the car!! So good to be home. My puppy won't leave my side now - it is very cute.

So, now - back to reality. But feeling refreshed (although exhausted from the long car ride). It is so great to hang out with an old friend who reminds you of your care free days! Thanks for letting me come along on your trip S!!
