Today is a day that we have been waiting for for 6 years! Matt is finishing up his PhD in clinical psych. The next (and final) step is do an internship. He spent all of the fall applying to 14 sites and got 8 interviews (which is a really good amount!). He spent all of December and January flying around the country interviewing at various places and knocking their socks off. I am so proud of him! And today he gets to rank the sites he interviewed at.
The way the system works is you go in and rank where you would want to go. Then the places rank their top choices based on how many spots they have. The computer does all the work and we find out on Feb. 19th if he gets matched and Feb. 22nd where he is matched (and where we will be moving to). So, today he has to confirm his choices and where he would like to go and do a one year internship and advance his career.
The choices have been ranked, so we will see where we end up! Though - knowing Matt and how awesome he is, he will most likely (fingers crossed) get one of his top choices!!
... A very nice distraction. And hopeful his two angels up in heaven will watch out for their daddy and his career.
Way to go Matt. We are very proud of you and hope that you get the destination of your choice.
ReplyDeleteI am sure that your two little angels are up there looking out for their Daddy and Mommy (they must know how much Daddy and Mommy are hurting right now).
We wish you the very best and much happiness in the furtue. May god smile down on the two of you and bless you with a bundle of joy soon to help ease your pain. Although as a family we will never forget our little peanut and pickle who we never even had the chance to hold (maybe some day we can have that joy).
Love you both
